Cero's Candy

Cero's Candy is a local institution. You can watch them make candy on certain days. This keeps changing, so call ahead. 316 264 5002. They are located in the center of Wichita, 1108 East Douglas, near Old Town.

Their candy is fantastic, and they offer sugar free chocolate candies. If you are diabetic, this is a real treat. They also do mail order.

The story of "Candy Pete"
Candy Pete

"Candy Pete" Cero, a Greek sailor, was lured to Wichita, Kansas, for railroad work in 1883. But Pete became ill and the railroad crew left him behind when they moved on. Without railroad work to pay his way, Pete turned to candy-making in 1885. Cero's handmade candies became popular with Wichitans, and Pete's business grew.
